I graduated with a M.Sc. from the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore and have since moved to ETH, Zurich to join the Ecosystem Management Unit where I am undergoing a 3-year PhD programme since June 2009. I have worked on a range of topics on tropical forest conservation in Southeast Asia, from the wildlife trade to dung beetle ecology and my current research focuses on the impacts of oil palm plantations on social livelihoods. I’m also interested in the role of world religions in nature conservation and have been volunteering in various groups to promote this concept.

Apart from reading journals, journals and more journals, I enjoy running, playing badminton, sketching, visiting art museums and learning the ways of the matriarch (aka peranakan cuisine).
